Dr Paul Cheng is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at The Layt Clinic, serving the Gold Coast, QLD and Northern Rivers, NSW. He holds a current AHPRA specialist registration in Plastic Surgery (MED0002720769) in Australia and an MCNZ vocational registration in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2022. A member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons (NZAPS), Dr Cheng trained initially in New Zealand before completing two post-fellowship aesthetic fellowships in Australia. He offers each patient bespoke, high-quality care across the full scope of plastic and reconstructive surgery — including aesthetic facial surgery, breast and body contouring, skin cancer surgery, burn and trauma reconstruction, microsurgery and hand surgery — from consultation through to procedure and after-care.

Dr Cheng has been regularly involved in the surgical education of junior colleagues and has served as a RACS examiner for Part I Clinical Examinations since October 2023. He has published in renowned medical journals throughout his training.
After being awarded FRACS in 2022 and working as a Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Waikato Hospital, Dr Cheng pursued further post-fellowship training with internationally renowned experts in Australia — facial aesthetic surgery in Sydney and breast aesthetic surgery on the Gold Coast — before joining The Layt Clinic.
